Common Factors in Food Blog Themes?

It goes without saying that in today’s day and age, your food blog theme should have a responsive design. Aside from responsiveness, you should look for themes that have the ability to add featured images and galleries so you can show off your latest culinary masterpiece. You’ll also want to look for themes that have an integrated recipe building module or at least work well with existing plugins so you can easily publish new recipes.

Additional features you will want to look for include recipe ratings, the ability for users to print out a recipe, and markup that makes it easy for users to find your recipe on Google by adhering to its recipe search guidelines (which now can also include rich cards and user ratings).

Finally, a well-rounded quality foodie theme will also have plenty of customization options to make it fit with your brand seamlessly.

Should You Use a Theme?

Food blog themes are a great choice for anyone who is passionate about cooking or baking. If your kitchen is the favorite part of your house and you are always experimenting with recipes, these themes are a great choice to share your creativity with the world. But, even if you are just starting out with culinary adventures and want to share your progress with the rest of the world, you can easily start your own food blogging journey with one of the themes from our collection.

        Hi Evan,
I also like https://www.nimbusthemes.com/wordpress-themes/food-blog/ a lot and will give it a try. One question, how do I know the picture will get printed with the recipe when I use the print option? I noticed some print options exclude the picture, only the text will print. But who wants to print a recipe without a picture nowadays. Save ink and paper???
This theme is not available for purchase at wordpress.com. How do I use it for my blog at wordpress.com? As you know, we can not use plugins at wordpress.com. Thanks for helping.

Hi Evan! Very impressive list, in fact, I’ve used two themes on this list. Although now I’m using the Foodie Pro theme with a few custom tweaks. I just wanted to bring to your attention our monthly income reports that my husband and I have been producing for over 2 years for our food blog. It’s not to the level of Pinch of Yum but we’ve heard from many beginner bloggers that our numbers are a bit more relatable. Thanks! 🙂

Thanks Jessica for sharing your blog with our readers. I think a lot of beginners will find it useful to see actual numbers and the progress over the years. Nice work!\n\nRegarding Foodie Pro, what attracted you to this theme? Would love to hear your feedback on this theme, and the other ones you used as well.

One thing people don’t fully understand today is that starting a food blog can be one of many avenues toward getting off of that cushy day job most people hate going to. Food blogging is a great way to have a side hustle going online while either unemployed or holding down a day job, because as long as a food blogger has a mind to create rich content daily or every other day with engaging food content, their food blogs will get free advertising by their target reader audience, as blog post links will automatically be shared on Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, YouTube, and every one else’s social networking place online. The key to food blogging success is lots and lots of content and determination to prosper.
